The Day Before School

It is the day before school. Does my daughter know this? She is all over the house screaming, kicking the dogs, begging for chocolate, simply driving me and my husband crazy. Is she trying to enjoy her last day of freedom? The only thing calming her down is Team Umizoomi!

Now I understand why parents look so happy on the First Day of School!

Long Days

So, I mentioned that I was up at 5:00am anxious to begin the day, right, but it's now 3:13pm in the afternoon and my energy has depleted and can I say NAP TIME!! (they should never give up nap time after Kindergarten) Geesh! And with such beautiful weather I could really snuggle up in my bed with a great movie, no not a book, it will only put me to sleep...heehee.  So the countdown is on to leave work to go home to the real work with another load of laundry and the din din certainly ain't cooking itself!! Sighhh.  So much falls on our shoulders, right?!

How about you guys?  How do you do it?  How do you stay energized and keep on kicking with such long days?

Btw...Any dinner recipe suggestions? lol  I promise, one of my 2012 goals is to get organized and plan meals by the week...bahahahahahaha...sorry, I had to laugh at that...ok ok ok...I definitely will try.

My next post HAS to be about the importance and the necessity for sleep though...lol...my favourite pastime! :)

The Bottle Dilemma

My two month old son Chase, decided he would stop taking a bottle.  He was introduced to a formula bottle the first month of his life to supplement breastfeeding. (I learned this lesson from breastfeeding my daughter Channing, two years ago.) Anywho, at four weeks my darling son became fussy, crying at night. Our doctor said he may have colic so I must stop formula feeding and change my diet. Well Chase stopped crying when I made some changes to my life........diet and I began a feeding schedule instead of on demand. Fantastic but here came the dilemma. Chase would not take the bottle when we tried to give it to him again. My husband Eric, suggested putting breastmilk in the bottle. No luck. We changed formula......no luck!

Solely breastfeeding is simply not an option! What do I do now?

I know! I will ask every mother I know what to do. That is precisely what I did. Many offered their sympathies. Jokes! I continued my search for answers.  Until my conversation with my friend Tanya last night. She is the mother of two boys. Here was her suggestion.

Wait for it! Wait for it!

Tanya suggested I change the bottle nipple. Not the brand but the flow. Maybe Chase had graduated from a  Level One to a Level Two nipple.

Need I say more? Last night, Chase drank four ounces from his bottle with a Level Two Nipple. Thank you Tan Tan!

Back to Reality...After the Holidays

So wow, I woke up at 5:00am this morning quite anxious about getting back into the routine after the Christmas holidays. Back to "real" work and not holiday work...haha...AND let's not forget, BACK TO SCHOOL. So I was anxious about all that comes along with back to school, getting the kids off to bed at a reasonable time, packing bags and lunches for the next day, preparing and laying out school clothes, and of course what else comes with going back to school??? Back to school traffic!!!!! ahhhhhh...but guess what, there was NO TRAFFIC this morning...YAY!!! But check me tomorrow and see how I feel, because I am sure ALL schools are back in by then....sighhhhhh. When is Easter?

Happy Birthday Tiff Riff!!! I hope you can squeeze in a little time away from the kids and husband (well maybe he can tag along but then who will look after the kids? lol) to catch up on sleep, finish that book, or maybe just sit and drink a glass of wine.  Enjoy your Birthday babes you deserve it! :)
